An ever-changing identity for an art market run by its people.

SuperRare is a curated marketplace for single-edition digital art on Ethereum, built around a community of artists, collectors, and curators who increasingly run it themselves. I led the brand identity as its sole designer, building a system for a brand that was stretching well beyond the marketplace, into an editorial magazine, a physical gallery in New York, weekly curatorial series, artist conversations, and a community site for its token and DAO.

The challenge was range. Every week brings new work in every register imaginable, from generative abstraction to painterly figuration, and a fixed look would either fight that work or flatten it. So the identity is ever-changing by design: a flexible, dynamic system that is never quite the same twice. A serif wordmark with gallery manners and a restrained palette hold it together, while a modular grid re-tunes itself around every piece, letting the artwork carry the color, the texture, and the noise.
